Tom Krysiak died peacefully on Sept 4th, 2025, at his home, Pine House, part of the L’Arche Daybreak community.
Tom was the beloved son of Nelli Szymborska and Stanislaw Krysiak. He was much loved by his stepfather, Zbigniew Szymborski, and his stepsister Ewa Szozda.
In 1998, Tom moved to the L’Arche Daybreak community, making his home first at Centre Street and in more recent years at Pine House.
Tom lived his life with his heart wide open. He had a gift for gently, affectionately, and joyfully drawing others in, and was generous in his love and care for others.
Tom was a gifted artist with boundless creativity. He shared his vivid and playful imagination in and through many forms—through art, dance, mime, and prayer.
Tom revealed to all of us how to embrace the wonder and uniqueness of our lives, pulling us in and alongside to live in joy.
Visitation will take place at L’Arche Daybreak’s Dayspring Chapel (11339 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill) on Wed, Sept 10, from 2-5 PM.
Funeral Service will take place at Our Lady Queen of the World Catholic Church (10411 Bayview Ave, Richmond Hill) on Thursday, Sept 11 at 10:30 AM.
Reception will take place at the Meeting Hall at L’Arche Daybreak immediately following the funeral service. (11339 Yonge St, Richmond Hill
