The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family and
friends at Moncton Hospital, on Thursday January 16, 2025 of Timothy
Andrew MacKenzie of O’Leary, aged 34, beloved husband of
“TinTin” Kristine (Escopin) MacKenzie. Timmy was born on
April 10, 1990 in Summerside, loving son of Andrew & Pam
(Wright) MacKenzie.
Dear father of Jemima and Hava MacKenzie.
Special brother to Marcus (Kaitlyn) MacKenzie, Hannah
(Norman) Turkington, and Justin MacKenzie, son in law to Valentin
& Fe Escopin, brother in law to Fercyval Escopin, and Cleo
Escopin (Jonnel Tividad).
Cherished uncle to Micah, Brody, Maddie, Jackson, Theo and
Kurt.
When he was younger, Timmy was often described as
rambunctious and full of energy. There are countless funny stories
about his antics. After he got saved at the age of 20, however, he
learned to channel that energy for the benefit of others and to spread
the gospel. When he wasn’t working with Trevor (his employer
for 16+ years), or playing with Jemima and making Hava smile, he was
either reading/listening to the Bible, singing/playing the piano
surrounded by family, or lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He
also frequently invited people from all walks of life into their home
for a meal or a place to stay. Wherever he went, he would invite
people out to gospel meeting, give out gospel papers and tell others
about his Saviour whom he loved. The Christians who meet in
O’Leary Gospel Hall will greatly miss his help with
preaching, children’s work, youth group, senior outreach,
and much more. He was always there and humbly did whatever was needed
with a smile on his face. Timmy also had a special place in his heart
for the Philipines. He could speak Tagalog well, and often said
although he was born Canadian, his chosen nationality was Filipino.
One of his favorite Bible verses was John 3:16 “For God so loved
the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” If he could
have a request now that he is gone, it would be that everyone reading
this would attend a gospel meeting to hear the good news that
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” 1 Tim
1:15.
Timmy is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles Esther
Kelly, Trenna (Rick) Adams, Sharon (Jeremy) Lewis, Katherine (Donald)
Johnstone, Donald (Joan) Wright, Marie (Alfred) Ackie, Diane Robinson,
as well as many cousins, all whom he dearly loved.
Timmy was predeceased by his brother Stephen, grandparents
Lewis & Jeannette MacKenzie, Charles & Josie Wright,
aunts and uncles Billy Wright, Steve Robinson, Dolly & Bruce
Claridge, May Wright, Bert Kelly, Dale Adams, Peter Elsinga and niece
Christelle Turkington.
