Thomas Monte Carlo Obituary
Thomas Monte Carlo, 68, of Basom, New York passed away on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 after a short illness. Tom was born in Batavia New York on November 4,1956, son of Harold Carlo and Rose (Newton) Ratajczak.
He attended school and grew up in Holland New York, but ultimately returned to Genesee County, where he spent most of his life, retiring from Hodgins Printing Co. in 2019.
Tom’s greatest passion was the time he spent riding his Harley from town to town exploring as much as time would allow, living each day as a blessing. Tom was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. He was also a Beatles fan, and enjoyed photography.
Tom was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1975 to 1979. It was in the Air Force that he became an electrician; a trade that he carried over into a career post-Service. With his passion for music in the 70s and 80s, Tom worked numerous concerts as a sound and lighting technician for some of the world’s biggest bands and performers.
Tom is survived by his two children by marriage Devon “Gizmo” (Lacie) Weis of Batavia, New York and Angela (Nathan) Farnsworth of Triangle, Virginia, Grandchildren Alora, Paxton and Lennox. Tom is also survived by lifelong friends Kevin (Deb) Clark and Shelly McDonnell, and many other friends.
There will be no prior calling hours. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Gilmartin Funeral Home 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, NY 14020 followed by a celebration of life at the Polish Falcons in Batavia. Tom will be laid to rest at an 11:00AM Graveside Service held on Tuesday February 18th at Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu.
