Thomas Harold Knapp
With profound sadness we share the passing of Harold, in his 70th year with his family by his side. He leaves behind his partner, Dianne Johnson, his children Emily (Andrew), Ben (Tina), Jordan, Lacey (Luke), and Mitchel (Gabby). Loved and missed by his grandchildren Charlotte, Kael, Sophie, Eamon, Bailey, Lochlan, Emerson and Owen. Survived by his siblings Carol (Walt), Dianne (Gary), Connie (Ron), Kathy (Wayne), Joe (Ellie), Jeff (Sue), Heather (Kirk) and sister-in-law Cathy. Also survived by his Uncle Glen, Aunt Nellie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by brother Ken, and his parents Thomas and Lois.
Harold was truly a family man, who loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren whether it was watching them play any sport, or just share an ice cream sandwich. In his youth, he was an active athlete who loved every chance to play a sport, but hockey was especially dear to him, something he shared with his family. He enjoyed his time in the farming community, and loved his farm in Plum Hollow. In his later years, he was passionate about making maple syrup and his business, Jack Frost Ice, which he shared with Dianne. He loved every opportunity to connect with people, share a story, learn about them and spread some joy. His big smile and laugh will be missed by many.
Relatives and friends can celebrate his life and share their stories on Thursday March 20, 2025 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. The funeral will be held at Christ Church Athens on Friday March 21, 2025 at 11 am. Interment to follow at the Plum Hollow Cemetery.
Donations to Athens District Family Medical Center or the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care Unit are gratefully acknowledged by the family.
A special thank you to Dr. Alexia de Jong Baumann, Chelsea Ferguson, Kailyn Howison and Dr. Louise Gilmer and their colleagues for their patience, support and kindness during Harold’s last few weeks. We truly appreciate everything.
