Theresa Ann (Jeddry) James – 86, of Yarmouth Heights, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Saint Alphonse, NS, March 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Madeline Deveau. Theresa lived for many years in Ontario before moving home to Beaver River, NS, in 1982. Along with her parents, Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Gordon James; brothers, James and Luke; and sisters, Doris, Joan, and Edna.
She is survived by her three children, Brenda (Brian) Flowers, Bradford, Ontario; Brian (Aletha) James, Hunts Point, NS, and Alan (Sjanna) James, Gavelton, NS; sisters, Rosalie Crosby, Halifax; Mae (Allister) MacDonald, Hammonds Plains, Grace Comeau, Halifax, and Zita Hubbard, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Ashley (Dan) Martino, Justin (Nicole) James, Courtney (Tray) Ferrigan, Jenna (Derick) Deveau, Mitchell (Erica) Flowers, Meredith James, Sarah (Noah) Deveau, Anita James, Caleb James, Lydia James; step grandchildren, Carter (Amber) Scott and Kaitlin (Kevin) Wolfe, great grandchildren, Tristan, Aria, Isabella, Jack, Wyatt, Sylvie, KJ, and Klara; and many nieces and nephews.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she dedicated her life to creating a warm and loving home. Theresa found joy in the simple things, working on word search puzzles, watching Blue Jays baseball games, and spending time with family. She was known for her quick wit and sharp sense of humour and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Yarmouth Heights for their care over the past several years, as well as to Dr. Cain and the hospital staff for their compassion and kindness in her final days. Your support and dedication brought comfort to both Theresa and those who loved her.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will take place Sunday, February 2nd, from 7-9 PM in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 3rd at 2:00 PM at Sweeny’s Funeral Home with Pastor Craig Minard officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Port Maitland Beaver River Cemetery. Donations in memory can by made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation or your charity of choice.
