Theodore Ivan Johnson
March 5th, 1938 – January 15th, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theodore (Ted) Johnson at Stevenson Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025 at the age of 86.
Ted was surrounded by his wife, Lynda, family and his best friend, John.
Ted was born at the family homestead on March 5th, 1938 at the rail line settlement of Brignall, Ontario near the town of Parry Sound. He was a passionate hunter, fisherman, proud Shriner, family man and friend. Ted and Lynda’s door was always open and they generously shared everything.
Ted started with CN Rail at 18 and spent his career working on the lines until being promoted to track superintendent, eventually working out of Union Station in Toronto. He retired in December 1993 and moved back to his roots at Horseshoe Lake, Parry Sound, where he enjoyed visits from family and friends, playing cards and sitting by the fire with his favourite dog, Charlie.
He loved his family, especially his 6 grandchildren who gave so much light to his life.
Ted is survived by his wife, Lynda, his children Craig (Dionne), Shelly (Don) and Ed (Colleen); grandchildren, Tyler, Avery (Nathan), Carter (Julia), Alice, Amy & Charlie; sisters, Bertie and Bonnie (Klaas). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, especially the hunting gang and his Rummy rival, Randy.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, Charles John and Alice May Johnson; his brothers Jack, Norman, Frank and his sister Betty.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, January 25th at 1:00 pm at The Gibson Centre, 63 Tupper Street West, Alliston.
