Tessie Lillian Armstrong “Tess” passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on the morning of Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at her home in Guelph at the age of 76. Tess was born on February 17, 1949 in North Cobalt, ON to her late parents Thomas and Tessie Coe. She was married for 47 years to her loving husband Jim Armstrong who will miss her dearly. Tess’ memory will be cherished by her daughter Tara (Scott), her sons Jim and John (Gillian) and her adoring grandchildren Rebecca (Alex) Alex, Jake and Josh and great-grandson Travis. She is survived by her sister Sheila (late Alvin), her sisters-in-law Joan (late George) and Elizabeth (Randy), their families and her many extended relatives.
Tess was a cherished member of our community, known for her dedication to youth development. As a former Brownie leader and two-term Girl Guide Commissioner of Fergus, ON, she inspired countless young girls. Tess also ran a home daycare, where she found joy in watching children learn and grow. Her passions included camping, baseball, and hockey. Above all, she loved spending time with her beautiful family.
Cremation has taken place. A graveside celebration will be held privately. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to Parkinson Canada or MS Canada would be appreciated by Tess’ family.
