In loving memory of Teresa Isobel (née McPhee) MacEachern, who passed away peacefully at Maison McCulloch Hospice on Sunday morning, March 23rd, 2025, at the age of 101 years old.
Teresa was the loving daughter of Malcolm and Catherine (née McDonald) McPhee, both predeceased. Loving wife of Andrew MacEachern (predeceased). Beloved sister of Anne Carscallen (Loyst, both predeceased), Catherine Closs (Norval, both predeceased), Rita McPhee (predeceased), Helen Gustafson (Kennth, predeceased) and Joan McPhee. Dearly loved Aunt of Garry Carscallen (predeceased)(Janet), Brian Closs (Timothy), Karen Larose (predeceased), Terry Closs, Bonnie Delay (Sebastian), Heather Brown (Gary predeceased), Ralph Closs (Carrie Lynn), Sandra Castonguay (Ritchie), Tracy Gunn (Don), Kelly Farrell (John), and Robert MacEachern (predeceased). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Cape Breton and western Canada. Loved aunt of 57 great nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by many friends including Jessie, Colleen, Sue Margaret Rhude, Joanne, Marg Fitzsimmons, Kathy and Agnes.
Teresa was born and raised on a farm in Markstay, Ontario. She began her working career at McDonald General Store and in 1949, moved to Sudbury where she found much joy in her employment at Melody Music and later moved on to CKSO Radio in Sudbury. She married Andrew in 1968 and moved to Hamilton, Ontario where they lived until 1994. She returned to Sudbury after Andys passing. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and Christ the King Church, as well as a proud 50-year member of the CWL.
Teresa was an avid baker and gardener. All her nieces were gifted with her hand made quilts. On her 100th birthday, Teresa was very pleased to receive recognition from her favourite sports team, the Toronto Blue Jays.
Special thanks to Father Raymond Akor for his ongoing support over the years. Many thanks to the staff at HSN South tower, 4th floor, Dr. Singh, HCCSS, ICAN, Maison McCulloch Hospice and all who visited and supported Teresa.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Sunday March 30, 2025, from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Church, 30 Beech Street, Sudbury, on Monday March 31, 2025, at 10am. Interment in Hamilton, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison McCulloch Hospice or Christ the King Church Stair Fund would be appreciated.
