Obituary of Sylvia Ann Pascoe
Sylvia Ann Elaine Pascoe (Lehrbass)
Sadly, but expectedly, Sylvia Ann Elaine Pascoe (Lehrbass) of Parkhill passed away peacefully in her home on May 17th, 2025, in her 82nd year after a long struggle with heart failure. Predeceased hy her husband Donald Elmer Pascoe in 2018. Also predeceased by her parents Carl and Edna Lehrbass and her brother Eldon Lehrbass. Survived by her sister Cheryl Leighton. Sylvia was a dearly loved and precious mother of Debbie (Kevin), Donna (Eric), and Ron (Chad). Sylvia is lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren: Nathan, Marcel (Linnea), Owen, and Laura Fohkens; Rachel (Michael), Jenna (Dan) and Kaylee Stewart. A great-granddaughter Olivia arrived in September of 2023, and one great-grandson is expected in July of 2025. Sylvia will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephew Leanne, Andrea, and Phil.
Sylvia was born on June 23rd, 1943, and was raised on a farm on Inwood Road. A bout of rheumatic fever left Sylvia with a slightly damaged heart as a teenager and was told not to participate in sports at the time. She eventually was able to enjoy dancing and bowling. Sylvia and Don met in Grand Bend and dated for two years before marrying in June of 1965. They lived their entire married life on the family farm on Parkhill Drive. Sylvia enjoyed living in Parkhill for the last six years. Sylvia worked for a short time at London Life before the twin girls, Debbie and Donna, were born in 1967. A son, Ron, came along in 1970. Sylvia had an in-home daycare for a few years so she could stay at home and raise the children. Later, Sylvia received her insurance brokers license and worked in the insurance industry for about 25 years, first with Cooperators Insurance for several years and then with Don Johnson Lambton Mutual Insurance for the remainder of her career. For many decades, Sylvia was an active member at the Sylvan United Church playing the organ, piano, participating in the handbell choir and leading the children’s choir. She also helped with UCW catering.
Special thanks to all staff at the Parkhill Medical Clinic, McIntyre Pharmacy, the many community nursing and support worker agency staff, and our private PSW over the past couple of years.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 3rd, 2025 at DENNING’S OF PARKHILL, 183 Broad St., Parkhill, with visitation at 2:00 pm until the service at 3:00 pm with a luncheon to follow.
A private graveside interment for the family will be held prior to the service.
Donations to Strathroy Hospice, VON or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
