Peacefully at Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville on Thursday February 6, 2025. Sylvia, beloved wife of the late Bev Green was in her 84th year.
Dear mother of Darren Gethons (Andrea), the late Cory Gethons and stepmother of Tim Green (Lorie), Tammy Brown (Kevin), Brad Green (Cindy) and the late Barry Green.
Grandmother of Becky, Brandi, Tara, Samantha, Stephanie, Zach, Dylan, Lexie, Jessica and great grandchildren: Alex, Tom, Mikey, Konnor, Cooper, Riley, Hunter, Freya, and Aria.
Beloved daughter of the late Bill and Evelyn Howell.
Sylvia was a nurse for over 50 years and touched many lives. She campaigned for the Cancer Society, worked tirelessly to find a bone marrow transplant, drove seniors to appointments, rescued countless animals, and reveled in taking her 1957 Chevrolet to car shows. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
The family will receive visitors at the Opatovsky Funeral Home-Dempster Chapel, 210 Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls on Tuesday February 11, 2025 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 pm. A service to celebrate Sylvia’s life will be conducted in the chapel commencing at 12:00 pm on Wednesday February 12, 2025 with Doreen Mason DLM officiating.
Spring interment in the Burk’s Falls Cemetery.
