It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susanne Franke, a remarkable woman whose strength, kindness, and love touched the lives of so many. She passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer, surrounded by family who cherished her deeply.
Born on July 11, 1966, in Veerßen, District of Uelzen, Germany, Susanne was known for her endless generosity, her resilience in the face of challenges, and her boundless love for those around her. Her passion for gardening brought beauty to every space she touched, and her green thumb was unmatched—whether tending to flowers, vegetables, or houseplants.
Susanne was the first to lend a hand when someone needed help, always ready to step in with wisdom, compassion, and a can-do spirit. Her strength inspired those around her, and her laughter and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Above all, she was a devoted wife to Oliver Franke and a loving mother to Amanda Franke and Sabrina Franke. Her love and support were constant, and her lessons will remain a guiding light in the lives of her family.
She is also survived by countless friends and loved ones who will forever carry her in their hearts.
A celebration of life will take place in the Reception Centre of the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, May 3, from 2-4 p.m. with words of remembrance at 3 p.m.
The family kindly invites attendees to bring live flowers to plant at the family farm, honoring Susanne’s deep love of gardening and the natural world. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and strength will live on in all of us.
