Peacefully on August 10, 2025, at the age of 88, with his loving family by his side. Much loved husband of Peggy (nee Hasmig). Devoted and loving father of Rosie Kampstra and husband Peter, Ani Ashekian, Sossy Dufour and husband Jeff. Adored Baboug of Grace, Sophia, Olivia, Maxum and Marcus. Peno will be forever dearly loved by his many family members.
Born in Kessab, Syria, Peno immigrated to Canada in 1969. Soon after his arrival, he met the love of his life, Peggy and was married in 1972. Peno worked for many years along with his brother at Kessab Carpet, which they founded. Always a hard worker, Peno also worked along with Peggy at Windsor Shoe Repair for 38 years. When he wasn’t working, Peno spent hours in his beloved garden, and only went indoors after nightfall. Friends and family were always welcomed to his garden and his house. He loved to barbeque, and family gatherings brought him much joy. Peno and his family would go on yearly trips to tropical islands, and that brought together lifelong memories. Peno was a proud member of his Armenian Community Centre, where he served on the board for 30 years. Above all, Peno loved his family dearly; he was kindhearted and connected with everyone, always having a kind word to say. He and his loving kindness will live on in his family’s cherished memories.
Visitation Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until time of a Funeral Service to Celebrate Peno’s Life at 12:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
