Stella Sinclair (nee Fouriezos) passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on March 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 1, 1935, in Sturgeon Falls, ON, and was one week shy of her 90th birthday. Stella was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Robert (Bob) Sinclair, her parents, Ted and Mandy Fouriezos, and her siblings Nick, Homer, Charlie, Kiki, sister-in-law Carolyn Fouriezos and brothers-in-law Kenneth Sinclair and Steven Annas.
She leaves behind her children Bob, Cathy (Dave) Bull, Dia Fox, and Cindy Comitos (Peter Rooney), and her grandchildren: Robert (Lana), James (Leah Thompson), Katie (Justin Riding), and Gillian Fox (Luke Rose); Jaret (Abby Cooper) and Jaimee Bull; Anthony and Alexandra Comitos; and Bobby Sinclair. Stella’s legacy also lives on through her three adored great-grandchildren: Stella, Everly, and Shay Fox.
Stella will be dearly missed by her sister, Kathleen Annas, her sisters-in-law, Bette Cohn and Dede Sinclair, and her brother-in-law, Dr. David Sinclair. She will be fondly remembered by her cousins Peter and Margarita Kostakos, Vicki Booth, Helen Kostakos, Elizabeth Cholodny, Peter Tuovi, and by her many nieces and nephews.
Stella studied nursing at Toronto General Hospital, where she met Bob, who was the love of her life. She was warmly welcomed into Bob’s small Scottish family, while he, in turn, embraced her large and vibrant Greek family. Their marriage was a beautiful blend of cultures, celebrated with laughter and love.
A dedicated member of her community, Stella was a founding member of the Manitou Chapter of the IODE and, for a time, served as Regent. She played an active role in the North Bay Winter Fur Carnival and was honored with a citation from Queen Elizabeth II for her contributions to the City of North Bay.
Stella found joy in gathering with friends, gardening, flowers, skiing, spending time at the family cottage on the French River, and playing card games like cribbage, bridge, and euchre. Above all, she cherished her family and the many friendships she cultivated throughout her life.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Drs. Melissa Stacey and Michael Leckie for their exceptional care and compassion over the years. Finally, we thank the staff at Marina Point and the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
A celebration of Stella’s life will be held at Martyn Funeral Home on Friday April 4, 2025. Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm with service immediately following.
Stella’s love, laugh, warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
