Sherar, Stanley (Ret. Sergeant Niagara Parks Police)-
June 19, 1934 – February 7, 2025.
It is with immense sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished father, Papa and great grandfather. Stan was the loving husband of Diane (predeceased June 2020) for 62 Years. Adored father of Kevin, Dawn (David) and Janine (Steve). Beloved Papa of Korie (Marc), Kyle (Brittany), Eryn (Chris), Kassidy (Anthony), Codie (Guy), Allyson (Shawn), Kale, Tyler, Carly, Nathan and Noah. Papa G and Papa Great to Cole, Jack, Shay, Drew, Everett, Ellie, Charlette, Troy, Addyson and Amelia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends who will remember him with love.
Dad began his career with the Niagara Parks Police in 1958 and had a long illustrious career and retired as a well-respected Sergeant in 1992. He had many awards, medals and accolades during his career and was the consummate good guy and the man people wanted to get to know and be around. He was one of the last true gentlemen and left a lasting impression on anyone he met! On his time off he drove a school bus where many kids from Chippawa still would come and remind him of those times when they would see him. Dad was the ultimate family man who cherished his family and could never get enough time with them, and he will be missed immensely. Stan was predeceased by his parents Henry “Harry” and Pearl Sherar and his siblings Colin, Joyce, Marjorie, Ken and Edison.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Dec, Samantha, and Tobi, Dr. Dang Nguyen and PSW’s Josephine and Crystal for their constant care and compassion not only for the last many years but also during this difficult time.
In keeping with Stan’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The Family will receive friends at Morse & Son Funeral Home- 5917 Main St, Niagara Falls, on Thursday February 13, 2025, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate Stan’s life will be held at the funeral home on Friday February 14, 2025, at 11am with interment at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Chippawa to follow. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Ronald McDonald House Canada. Memories, photos, and condolences may be shared at www.morseandson.com.
