Stanislaw “Stan” Juras

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Stanislaw “Stan” Juras on May 13, 2025, at Hospice Georgian Triangle, at the age of 78.
Born on November 9, 1946, in Germany, Stan immigrated to Canada with his family as a young child. He made Canada his lifelong home and built a life rooted in hard work, friendship, and family.
Stan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda Damm, his parents Joseph and Irena Juras (née Demchuk), and his brother Teddy Juras. He leaves behind his brother Chester Juras and sister-in-law Iwona Juras, his children Joe Juras (Sabrina Nepotini-Juras), Teresa Juras (Randy Evans), Joshua Juras, and Leah Juras (Kyle Hunt), as well as 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and nephew Christopher Juras. Stan also had many close friends whom he considered family.
Stan worked for many years in the aviation industry, most notably as a sheet metal specialist. Even in retirement, he couldn’t sit still – taking on odd jobs, helping others, and even driving a school bus for a time. Known for his sharp skills and generous spirit, he forged deep friendships with many of his coworkers, some of whom became family.
Stan had an enduring passion for cars, a soft spot for animals—especially rescued cats—and often found himself dog-sitting for friends and family. Never one to shy away from a project, his hands were always busy with DIY ventures, often with more than one on the go at a time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 1–3 p.m., with light refreshments during. All who knew Stan are welcome to join us in sharing stories, memories, and to honour a man who left an impression everywhere he went— and was always worth the wait.
Stan will be remembered for his warmth, his quick-witted humor, his work ethic, and above all, the love he had for those close to him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Stan to the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
