Solomon’s Obituary
CHILDS, Solomon Richard – age 91, passed away on February 6, 2025 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Lark Harbour, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late George and Clara Childs.
Solomon was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved the outdoors, being in the woods, and hunting. He was a very social person, making fast friends of with anyone up for a conversation. He was known to be quite the jokester, and had a great sense of humor. Above all that, Solomon was a very caring and giving individual, who would give the shirt off of his back, or his last meal to anyone who needed it more than he did. He will always be remembered for his kindness.
Solomon leaves behind his loving partner of 41 years, Marie Fields; sons, Micheal Childs, Lark Harbour and Keith Childs, Yarmouth; granddaughter, Lavinia Childs, Yarmouth; step sons, Jim Fields, and Mike (Joan) Fields, Yarmouth.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by all of his siblings in Newfoundland, and step son, David Fields.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Yarmouth. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
