With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Siu Ha Lee. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate her life and say our final goodbyes. Your presence has been a source of comfort during this difficult time.
Siu Ha leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She will be deeply missed by her children: Clara; Gordon and Susan; Pauleen; and Jackson and Tamar; her grandchildren: Darrick; Samantha and Michael; Deana and Daniel; and Dante; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kloude and Kodah.
Born in Toi Shan, Siu Ha and her beloved husband, Fong Lee, made the courageous journey to Canada, immigrating with their four children to build a better life for their family. Their sacrifices and unwavering dedication laid the foundation for the wonderful lives we all share today.
In their retirement, Fong and Siu Ha enjoyed exploring the world together, but their greatest joy was undoubtedly spending summers with their granddaughters, creating memories that will forever be cherished. Each spring, they lovingly tended to their beautiful flower garden, a vibrant symbol of their love for life and beauty. They also enjoyed their daily exercise and camaraderie with friends at Kingsmen.
Grandma had a keen sense of style and always emphasized the importance of self-care, imparting her wisdom and, often, her expensive skincare recommendations to us all. She was a woman of remarkable strength and spirit, demonstrating incredible resilience as she relearned her routines after her stroke in 2009.
Even with her favorite television programs on, Grandma always made time for her great-grandchildren. Her face would light up as she watched them play, and she cherished the moments she could hold them close and let them sit on her lap.
Now, Grandma is reunited with her devoted husband. Their love story was one of deep affection, often expressed with a touch of playful bickering—a testament to their enduring bond.
Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa, for everything. Thank you for your sacrifices, your love, and for providing us with the most wonderful childhood and upbringing. We will carry your love in our hearts forever.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Connelly-McKinley Downtown Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5K 1R5. Interment to take place at 11:45 a.m. at Beechmount Cemetery, 12420 104 St NW, Edmonton, AB, T5G 2M1.
