Shoji Yamamoto took his last breath Sunday afternoon, August 3 2025, in Charlottetown, PEI. With Hiro, mother of his 2 children, and daughters Midori & Kumi by his side. Born in Tokyo on November 10 1943, and lovingly raised by adoptive parents—family relatives—in rural Takefu (now Echizen) in Fukui prefecture. Died of a rare late complication of a June 23 Whipple surgery for cancer affecting the bile duct identified at an early stage this spring. No funeral or formal visitation services. He asked for his ashes to be scattered various places anywhere beautiful, including next to our loyal family dog Jiji.

８月３日（日）午後カナダ、プリンスエドワード島、シャーロットタウンにて、家族長女みどり、次女クミ、妻弘（ひろ）に見守られ、永眠しました。
東京に生まれ（越部家） 生後18ヶ月で福井県武生（越前市）親戚山本家に貰われ、深い愛に見守られて育ちました。
悲しくも、この春、胆管あたりに早期癌が発見され、6月23日手術（Whipple surgery)を受け、成功したにもかかわらず、一ヶ月後止血不能を起し、急逝しました。
故人、家族の所望により、遺灰は、日本の里、 忠犬爺爺の永眠場所（裏庭）、その他思い出深い多くの地に戻されます。
生前の多くの方々の御好意、深く感謝申し上げます。
