Sho Teramoto Obituary
Teramoto, Sho – Peacefully with family by his side on February 28, 2025. Sho, in his 92nd year, beloved husband of Helen for 58 years. Loving father of Glen (Alice), Kim, Kelly and Kerri (James). Loved grandpa of Kieran and Riley. Dear brother of Emiko, Mitsuko “Shirley”, Masako “Satch” (Ed), and brother-in-law of Donna (Brian). Predeceased by his parents Zeiji Etsuji and Tsune, his siblings Yuzo “Bing”, Yoneko “Edith” and James, and brother-in-law Abie. Sho will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Born on Mayne Island, a Southern Gulf Island off of the east coast of Vancouver Island, Sho’s family was forcibly relocated to Lemon Creek, in the B.C. interior in 1942. Upon their release, the family came east in December 1945, and eventually settled in Norval, ON. In 1954 they moved once again just a bit south to Huttonville, where Sho lived and raised his own family for 60 years.
Sho was a strong community member. He was a charter member of the Huttonville Lions Club, a tireless volunteer for the Huttonville Community School Association and Brampton Minor Hockey. Sho enjoyed gardening, growing and selling pumpkins and vegetables, pussy willows, statice, sedum and other varieties of flowers. He also enjoyed fishing and travelling.
Family and friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (9050 877-3631 on Wednesday, March 5th, 2025 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. A Celebration of Sho’s Life will take place in the chapel at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room. In lieu of flowers or koden, memorial contributions to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides would be appreciated.
