BRABANT Shirley (Potter)
Our Mom passed peacefully surrounded by her daughters, on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital in her 90th year. Dear wife of the late Robert Harry Brabant. Beloved mother of Cathy (Brent) Stephens and Heather Brabant. Dearly loved Grandma of Carly (Hugh) Stephens, Brooke (Jeff) MacLeod and Todd (Brianne) Stephens and Jeffrey and Jason Little. Cherished Grammy of Sophie, Lily, Stella and Cole Stephens, Nora, Sam and Emily Pindur and Avery and Collins MacLeod. Dear sister and sister in law of Marlene (late Mac) Watson, Harold (late Madeleine) Munro, late Ross Munro, Karen (Jim) Rimmer, Joyce (late Bob) Mandryk, Mary Ellen (Rick) Glanville, Bonnie ( late Mathew) May, late Doug Munro, Nancy (Clarence) Steeper, Gary Munro, and Brian (Leona) Munro. Dear sister in law of late Roger (Sue) Brabant, Ron (Jacqueline) Brooks, Nancy (Norm) Powell, Val (Harry) DeJong, late Carol Pelley, Joe (Denise) Fewer, and late Mike Fewer. Shirley was the oldest of twelve born to Russell and Pearl. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. After Mom’s accident 25 years ago, she had some special PSWs, especially Cynthia and Jake who treated her like family. We would like to thank the Valleyview Home and all of the wonderful staff there. Although she didn’t get to stay there for very long, special bonds were made between the staff and new friends. Also, special thanks to the wonderful and caring nurses and doctors at STEGH, especially Allison, Stephanie, Jen, Janie and Dr. Ziada.
