Dean- Shirley (nee Mailloux) August 21,1932-April 30, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving Mother, Shirley Marie Therese Dean (nee Mailloux).
Wife to the late Harry Dean (2013) for 73 years. Dear mom of Cathy Langdon (Brian), Tom (Terrie), Bob, Jim (Louisette), Connie McKenzie (Derrick) and Colleen Davidson (Eugenio).
Grandmother of Daniel (Lena) and Kevin (Stephanie) Langdon, Eric (Jamie) Dean, Jes (Jeff) Danelon, Becky (Ron) Keller, Alex Dean, Arleigh (Cassie) and Jackson Dean, Jacob (Alicia) and Brendan (Sarah) McKenzie, Evan Davidson.
Great Grandma of Amelia, Harris, Emerson, Calen, Cash, Maevis, Max, Isabella and James (and all those to come).
Mom is the daughter of Harvey and Violet Mailloux (Meloche), was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario with her 6 brothers and sisters. She worked hard while growing up, in the family garden, a restaurant, and at Hiram Walkers. She moved back and forth from Toronto to Windsor after marriage in her early twenties, then in 1973, London became her final and forever home.
She took great pride in volunteering as a Block Parent, Library Volunteer, Church Bazaar, Boy Scouts and Baker. Her passion was running the Lambeth Legion Euchre club every Thursday for over 3 decades for “her people”.
Special thanks to all the amazing staff and nurses especially Dhurata and Nicole, at Kensington Village LTC where she has resided happily for the past few years. Special thanks to Dr. Whynot for his compassionate care.
Visitation will take place at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Rd S London, on Monday, May 12, from 1-4 pm with words of remembrance at 3:00 pm. A reception & Celebration of her life will follow at the Lambeth Legion 7097 Kilbourne Rd Lambeth, from 4:30- 6:30 pm.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Holy Family Parish, 777 Valetta St London, at 10:00 am. Interment later in the afternoon at the Woodland Cemetery. Donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Shirley.
