Shirley Jaffray Obituary
Shirley Jaffray passed away peacefully at CAMA Woodlands Long Term Care Home. Born in Waterdown to Percy and Edythe Metcalfe, Shirley grew up in Waterdown with her older sister Margaret (predeceased) on the family’s farm, and spent her later years in Milton. She will be deeply missed by her children: Dan (Brenda) Cole and Douglas (Liz) Cole; grandchildren: Daniel, Jessica, and Taylor Cole; and great-granddaughter: Emma.
Her career included working at Allied Equipment and Aldershot Contractors. She was kind, loving, funny, fiercely independent, and always ready with a quick remark. During Shirley’s life she skied and was a member of the Canadian ski patrol, she enjoyed golfing with the ladies at Tyandaga, and soaking up the sun in her free time, and was sure to put a smile on your face.
Throughout her life she enjoyed travelling the world, particularly taking the Motor home to Arizona and Florida, fulfilling her love of adventure. In their later years, Shirley and Bruce took up motorcycling, and were active members of the Gold Wing Club. She will be remembered for her excellent friendship, her vibrant personality, and her love of life.
A special thanks to CAMA Woodlands who took excellent care of her in her final year of life.
Private cremation has taken place. May you always remember Shirley fondly with good memories to cherish. Memorial donations can be made to CAMA’s Wish Fund.
