Obituary of Sherwin Cornelius
Sherwin Cornelius, 80, passed away on March 12, 2025, in Livonia, Michigan. Born on February 24, 1945, in Ontario, Canada.
Sherwin lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends. Sherwin found joy in many aspects of life. In his younger years, he had a passion for golf and continued to enjoy watching his favorite golfers on television.
He cherished time spent with his family and found happiness in outings to the casino with friends. A man with a sweet tooth, he never passed up the opportunity to indulge in dessert.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter’s Carolyn and Teresa (Steve), His grandchildren Erika (Jason), Sean (Sarina), Raven (Dan), Jesse, Kristy (Alicia), Nicholas, Katelyn (Justin); as well as great-grandchildren Skylar, River and Animkii. He also leaves behind siblings Tony, Judy, Valerie, Phyllis, and Marie.
Sherwin was predeceased by his parents Myrtle and Calvin Cornelius; siblings Simpson, Albert, Chester, and Evelyn; and his son Duane.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Oneida Community Center, located at 2017 Ball Park Road in Southwold, Ontario. Please join us for a luncheon in the Bear Den as we honor Sherwin’s memory.
Cremation has taken place in Michigan and his family plans to spread his ashes at a later date.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
