Obituary of Sharon Brown
Sharon Brown passed away April 28, 2025 at Tucker Hall, Saint John, New Brunswick, with her loving husband, Scovil by her side. She is survived by her husband Scovil and her children: Craig Haynes (Jeannine Ritchot) and Sheri-Lynn Haynes. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Thornton & Faye (Slocum) Smith and her sister, Eileen Smith.
Sharon graduated from Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing and spent many years caring for patients and their families. In her later years, she enjoyed meeting with her nursing colleagues. As well as her nursing career, she and Scovil delivered Meals on Wheels. Sharon was a key player in arranging for the yearly Christmas dinner for veterans and their spouses.
In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling across Canada, Europe, and Alaska. Sharon was content to plant flowers in her garden, listen to music and do crossword puzzles. She was the Oxford Dictionary many times for Scovil. Her greatest joy was when family and friends came to visit, and she was quick to put on the coffee pot and share her homemade muffins and jam.
The family is grateful for the kindness of the staff at Tucker Hall.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Donations in memory of Sharon can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through ReidsFH.com
