Sharon Marie Morton – We sadly announce the passing of our wonderful mother, Sharon Morton, age 65, on January 24, 2025 after a long battle with COPD.
Sharon spent her younger years working in fish plants where she met many life long friends. Sharon loved to go for long drives with her late husband. Never with a plan just ended up wherever the road took them. In her later years she spent her time talking to friends and family on her computer and spending as much time as she could with her family.
Sharon is survived by her children, Crystal Cunningham (Carter), Cape Sable Island; Bruce Nickerson (Amy), Kentville; Vanessa Misner (Mitchell), Kentville; sisters, Dianne (Gordie), Deerfield; Debbie, Pubnico; Shirley, Yarmouth; Gail (Gordie), Woods Harbour; Jeannie (Derick), Kemptville; brothers, George (Heather), Bear Point; Louis (Amanda), Kentville; Neil (Karen), Yarmouth. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Autumn (Nate), Noah, Tyra, Abbi, River, Ethan, Jaylynn, Xzavier, Maisie and Shauna; her pride and joy, her great grand son, Silas.
Sharon was predeceased by her mother, Hilda Doucette; husband, Gary Morton; sister, Rosemary Banks; brother, Dennis Doucette; brothers-in-law, Herbert Nickerson and Terry Johnson.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 with a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 all at Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Yarmouth. A burial will take place in the spring. Memorial donations in Sharon’s memory may be made to the Pereaux Baptist Church, Canning, Nova Scotia ((902)582-3058).
