Sharon Vanoni Obituary
With great sadness we announce the passing of Sharon Vanoni on February 26, 2025 at the Crowsnest Pass Continuing Care Centre, Blairmore, AB. She was 80 years of age.
Sharon was born in New Westminster, BC on May 22, 1944 to parents, John and Elaine Sudworth. She grew up to be a hardworking, caring woman – traits that served her well in all aspects of her life. They led her to be a wonderful, nurturing wife, mother and grandmother, and to a long, fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Sharon wasn’t one to sit still. Whether baking her famous cinnamon buns or bread, going dancing, or working out at Curves, she was always on the move. Over the years, she was an active member of the Royal Purple, curling club, and enjoyed the company of the Coffee Group and partaking in “happy hour”. In her quiet moments, she liked to sit in the sun – especially during her many trips to Arizona, read and to spoil her beloved dog, Dexter. More than anything, however, Sharon loved her family. She was never happier than when spending time with them and she had a very special place in her heart for her granddaughters & new great-granddaughter. Sharon will be deeply missed, but she will live on in precious memories.
Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life is her husband of sixty-one years, Robert Vanoni of Blairmore, AB; her daughters, Leanne (Scott) Morency of Crowsnest Pass, AB and Laurie (Jim) Kyfiuk of Calgary, AB; her grandchildren, Meagan (Jesse) McKenna of Bellevue, AB, Kaitlyn (Cam Veluw) Morency of Coleman, AB, Kendall (Austin Oswell) Kyfiuk of Kelowna, BC and Mackenzie Kyfiuk of Calgary, AB; and her great-granddaughter, Emery Rose McKenna.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Elaine Sudworth; and her parents-in-law, Hector and Bena Vanoni.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation “Greatest Need” (PO Box 455 Blairmore, AB T0K 0E0). Condolences may be registered at www.fantinsfuneralchapel.ca.
