Sarah Elizabeth “Sis” Fraser passed peacefully at
home on February 24, surrounded by
family.
Sis, known by family as Nanny Sissy, was the loving and
devoted matriarch of five beautiful generations, of whom she
was immensely proud. She was a doting daughter who cherished the years
she spent caring for her Mom, an inspirational mother, a
loving Nanny, a beloved Aunt, and simply the best sister
ever. Morether. Morethest.
Always there to help, she was the first to spring into action
wherever she saw a need, whether it was a drive to school, a shoulder
to cry on, or a place to call home for a minute or two. Her door was
always open and the kettle was always on. Nothing brought her more joy
than caring for those she loved, and even those who never knew her
name.
She had worked at Clairtone, Glen Haven Manor, and retired as
custodian of Trenton High School, where she was fortunate to work
alongside her best friend, Mabel.
One of her favourite places to be was at the dining room
table, surrounded by her loved ones, with a deck of cards or a
crossword puzzle and a hot cup of coffee.
Sis’s love for a good card game came second only to her
family. She would never refuse a game of poker, crib or Rummoli. She
was a member of countless groups over the years and had endless laughs
with the Tarbish Girls, her Sunday Night Card Club and Saturday
afternoons at the Trenton Legion.
Her other love was new adventure. She always enjoyed
her camping trips on the Bay of Fundy. She loved travelling to Las
Vegas, Fort Saskatchewan, Disneyland, Springhill, Puerto Rico, South
Korea, Thailand, several States, and all across Canada.
She will always be remembered for her quick wit, her clever
words and compassionate, welcoming spirit. She loved a good joke, a
long drive and a catchy little tune.
As eloquently written by a family friend, “Sis had the
wonderful, unique combination of mischievous humour and kindness. The
warm smile with the twinkle in her eye, and we will fondly remember
her as a gentle soul with a caring heart who lived for her family and
loved ones.”
She will be greatly missed by her sister, Marnie (Mark)

her journey to end at home, we can never thank you

Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow, with a Celebration of Life at 1pm

root for the underdog. Now sit up straight.
