Obituary of Sandra Ann Wilton
Entered into the presence of her Lord and Saviour suddenly on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in her 77th year. The cherished wife of Glenn Wilton, loving mother to Jonathan (Heidi) and Karen (Joel), and dear sister of Bob (Phyllis). Sister-in-law to David (the late Doreen), and Terry (Mary). Proud grandmother to Emily, Ian, and Olivia Wilton, and Abigail, Hannah, and Isaac Barker. The family rejoices in the knowledge that Sandy is now free from pain and with her Lord but grieves her absence and companionship.
Sandy met Glenn at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Together, they served the Lord for almost 40 years in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire) with Africa Inland Mission (AIM). Her simple courses for women in Bible knowledge, homemaking skills and Sunday School lessons, together with her preparation and duplicating of a myriad of booklets in the local African language continue to have a far reaching impact. During furloughs and in retirement she was active in many volunteer roles at Philpott Church and Global Recordings Network (GRN).
Sandy will be remembered as a kind spirit, a faithful follower of Jesus, a hard worker and a devoted wife to Glenn. We will never know just how much pain she endured, because she never whimpered or complained.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Africa Inland Mission or Global Recordings Network Canada.
A Memorial Service will be held at Philpott Church, corner of Park and York Streets in Hamilton on Saturday, March 29 at 11:00 AM with tea and coffee and fellowship time afterward. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
