Sandra Frances Boyer Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandi) Frances Boyer (née Weatherall).
Sandi passed away at the United Mennonite Home in Vineland, Ontario, on Saturday, March 15th, at the age of 83. Sandi was a tough and determined woman who fought valiantly against her illness in her final days, displaying the same strength and resilience that defined her throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Richard Boyer, her children Beth (Kent) and Larry, and her cherished grandchildren Scott, Sean, Tyler, Nathan, and Mackenzie. Sandi was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Harold Weatherall.
Sandi will also be fondly remembered by the many friends she made throughout her life, particularly her lifelong friends, Linda and Jim Wagg.
Born and raised in Burlington, Ontario, Sandi attended Burlington Central High School. She worked for Firestone and later continued her career at Diversey Johnson. In 1965, Sandi married Richard, and together they built a loving family. She was a dedicated volunteer, especially in the development of the co-op preschool at St. Christopher’s Church, where she made a significant impact. She also enjoyed contributing to the Brownies and Girl Guides programs.
Sandi had many passions, including knitting, crocheting, painting, and camping. She was also actively involved in her children’s activities, including hockey and figure skating.
The family is deeply grateful to Dr. Woodland, as well as the nurses, PSWs, and staff at The United Mennonite Home for their compassionate care and support throughout Sandi’s final years.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date, with details to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada, in memory of Sandi’s dedication to helping others.
