Samuel “Sam” Alexander Earl Rowe passed away on February 1, 2025, in High River, Alberta, at the age of 77. Born on September 17, 1947, in Ottawa, Ontario, Sam lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and an adventurous spirit.
A true jack of all trades, Sam’s career spanned numerous fields. While carpentry and wood working remained a central focus, his work extended to business ownerships, warehouse loader, opening a truly unique candy store, serving as a town man, and building and working in greenhouses. His diverse skills and entrepreneurial drive led him to many more accomplishments before he eventually retired.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Sam had a deep passion for exploration and craftsmanship. While attending flea markets, he had a keen eye for discovering hidden treasures. His curiosity led him to explore abandoned buildings and structures, always eager to uncover history within forgotten spaces. An inventor at heart and a skilled handyman, he was known for his ability to create and fix just about anything. His generosity extended into volunteer work, where he dedicated time to helping others.
Sam will be deeply missed by those who knew him best. He is survived by his son Kurtis; wife Amanda; granddaughters Annabell and Shyla; daughters Karyn, Beverly, Selina, and Tamara; as well as many grandchildren and extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Clara and his brothers Harold and Lenard.
Sam’s kindness, compassion, and ever-present smile left a lasting impact on those around him. His memory will continue to bring comfort to his closest family and friends.
