Obituary of Ruth Crispell
Passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Cherished wife of Bob for 37 wonderful years. Loved mother of Sarah Sims (Jordan), and step- mother of Melinda McDaid (Scott), and the late Andrea Allan (Scott). Adored grandma to Easton and Emree Sims, Kaitlin and Mara Allan, and Chris and Megan McDaid. Predeceased by her parents Earl and Florence Darou. Sister of the late Alec Darou, Frank Darou, Diane McIver, late Alison Beaton, and Leslie McPeake. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Ruth had a deep passion for education and dedicated many years to teaching. She was especially proud of her role as a Principal within the Lambton Kent District School Board. Over the course of her career, she formed countless friendships with colleagues, cherishing those connections and staying in touch with a close few even after retirement.
Ruth loved her time on Pine Island. We know her spirit will continue to live on at camp and we will embrace her memories every time we are there. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at Pine Island at a later date. Memorial donations to ARCH would be greatly appreciated by the family.
