Russel Peter Murdoch Obituary
On August 27, 1960, Russel Peter Murdoch married Elinor Jean Mitchell. 64 years is a long history. We weathered the sadness and rejoiced the good times, till death do us part.
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife and best friend Elinor (Nee Mitchell), his son Daren (Donna), his granddaughter Mary Elinor, sister Heather (Murray) Schlotzhauer, and his brother Eugene (Eleanor).
Russel was born in Stratford, son of the late Peter and Lila Murdoch. He is predeceased by his son, Shawn David in 2019, and his brother, David in 1961.
The early years of Russel’s working career was managing Dominion Stores in Southern Ontario. Continuing his work, he returned to Stratford at Kroehler Manufacturing until their closing. His last employment with Canadian Tire was enjoyed until retiring, only now to pursue his personal interests.
Throughout his lifetime, he had many interests, however his best achievement was creative woodworking. His legacy will continue for many years for the magnificent pieces he created for the love of wood. Such pieces dawn our home and not knowing he was also making the antiques of tomorrow. I hope you and Shawn can catch up when you see each other again.

Cremation has taken place. A private interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the W.G. Young Funeral Home.
