Ruby Louise Bradford
1934-2025
The passing of Ruby Louise (Zwicker) Bradford, wife of the
late Joseph Francis Bradford, formerly of Pennfield NB, occurred
peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB on January 12,
2025 with her loving family by her side.
Born at Grand Manan NB on January 13, 1934, she was a
daughter of the late Ashley and Rhoda (Griffin) Zwicker. A loving
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ruby is survived by her
children Barry Bradford of Blacks Harbour, Trudi Maillet of Pennfield
and Stephanie Pardy (Darren) of Saint John; grandchildren: Joey,
Jordan (Vanessa), Bradley (Emma), Necia, Darren and Tylar (Sarah);
great-grandchildren: Charlee, Colbee, Roman, River, Grayson,
Millie, and Olive; and many nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was predeceased
by two sons: Roddy and Joey; a great granddaughter: Ellee; brothers:
Glendon and Albert; one sister: Ella Flagg; son-in-law: Evans
Maillet.
Prior to retirement, Ruby worked for several places in the
local area including Connors Brothers, Collingwood Rest Home and the
Fundy Health Center in Blacks Harbour. A devote Christian, Ruby was a
faithful member of the Pentecostal Church for most of her life. She
had a caring and giving heart and was known for faithfully visiting
local nursing homes, spending time with residents who needed a friend,
and saying prayers for those who needed them. She had a wonderful
sense of humor and enjoyed spending all the time she could with her
family, especially her grandchildren. Ruby looked forward to all
family reunions and the fun times that came with them, whether it was
jumping on a trampoline with Carolyn or playing guitar in the
“key of 7”, you were always sure to have a laugh with Ruby
present. In her free time, she enjoyed watching hockey and could be
found cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs. She loved singing and
could be heard singing Willie Nelson tunes with her late husband,
Joey. A great cook and baker, she will be remembered for her pies and
baking treats for many lucky folks in the local community. Above all,
Ruby’s first love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was a
prayer warrior for her whole family and instilled her love of the Lord
on to her family. Her love and devotion will be greatly missed by her
loved ones and friends.
A special thank you to Mary & Kenny Allen for all
their love and support shown to mom over the years. You truly were her
church family, and she loved you as such. Also to the staff of the
Fundy Nursing Home for the care given to mom during her
stay.
