Rozin Daniel Iwanicki passed away on December 30th, 2024 at the age of 85 years.
He was born in Winnipeg on 19 February, 1939, and was employed for 35 years, by the City of Winnipeg Hydro Department, as Supervisor of Customer Accounts. He is predeceased by his parents Dmytro (Dan), and Lidia Iwanicki who immigrated from Poland to Winnipeg in the late 1920’s. Roz is survived by the love of his life Cathy of 47 years.
Roz was an avid wood worker and enjoyed many hours of tinkering in his workshop, building display fixtures for Cathy’s jewellery. He was also an artist, and produced many oil paintings on canvas.
Roz and Cathy were very much involved with the Masonic Family and served the Fraternity for 60 years. He was initiated, passed and raised into Fort Garry Lodge No. 130, and became Master of his Lodge. He was elected as District Deputy Grand Master for the 12 Masonic District, and was awarded a Certificate of Meritorious Service.
He received his Fourth to Thirty Second degrees in the Valley of Winnipeg, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Canada, and was Chairman of the Council for the Valley of Winnipeg. He was Coroneted Honorary Inspector General, Thirty Three Degrees, and Crowned Sovereign Grand Inspector General, and Deputy for the Province of Manitoba and Nunavut.
Roz was created a member of Khartum Shrine, and was active as a Member of the Directors Staff and also a Director for the Divan. He was received into the Royal Order of Scotland, and was known as Sir Rozin “Precision” Iwanicki.
