Obituary of Roy Frederick Barr
Roy Barr, a proud long-haul truck driver, passed away February 12, 2025. Known for his passion for the open road, Roy dedicated his life to trucking and was always eager to share his incredible stories of adventure from his years behind the wheel. He had a special fondness for the 20 years he spent on the road with his beloved wife, Dianne, creating memories together in what became his favorite chapter of his journey.
A loving husband, father, and friend, Roy’s life was defined by his commitment, both to his work and to the people he loved. His infectious laughter and storytelling made an impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether on the road or at home, Roy’s presence was always felt, and his legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
Roy is survived by his children: James, Jeffery, Joseph, and Christopher Barr, and Tanya Thorne; grandchildren: Talisha and Murrisa Thorne and Megan and Tristan Barr; siblings: Joyce Sutherland (Darrell), Deborah Conway (Raymond), and Hazen Barr (Amanda); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to cancer charities.
