Ross Lewis Tuck Obituary
TUCK, Ross- It is with much sadness, but great thanksgiving for a life well lived, that the family of Ross Lewis Tuck announces his passing on March 7, 2025, at Northland Pointe in Port Colborne, Ontario.
Ross was devoted to his wife, Donna (nee Stephens), with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage (a blind date that really worked!). A proud and loving father to his two sons, Rob (Denise) and Jeff (Leslie), he also treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, Beth Hutchings (Cam), Katie Tuck (Jostein), Ben Tuck (Clare) and Noah Tuck (Maddie). Most recently, he was blessed by great granddaughter Willow Hutchings. Ross is also survived by his brother John, sister-in-law Darlene, their son Chris, and his wife Sue.
Born to Fred and Laura Tuck on August 29, 1936, in Welland, Ontario, he was raised in Port Colborne and attended Port Colborne High School. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, he returned to his roots by joining his father at Tuck Jewellers, a family business founded in 1900 by his grandfather James Reginald Tuck.
Ross was a well-respected businessman but, more than that, he was a well-respected man. In his quiet and unassuming way, he made a mark in his community, contributing in many ways with faithful dedication. He served as President of the Port Colborne Jaycees, President of the Port Colborne Lions Club, Master of Macnab Lodge #169, and Chair of the Port Colborne Hydro Commission where he maintained his seat for 28 years. Ross was an active member of Central United Church, serving in many capacities including Chair of Church Council. His accomplishments only reflect the character of the man that he was – a hardworking, dedicated, compassionate and giving individual. He was a true gentleman – and a gentle man.
In his later years, he graciously faced the challenges of living with Parkinson’s Disease. Throughout its progression, he was assisted with love and compassion by his home care PSW, Veronica, of Care Partners, River Road Retirement Residence in Niagara Falls, and Northland Pointe in Port Colborne. The family gratefully acknowledges the excellent care that he received. Cremation has taken place. The Tuck family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence St., Port Colborne on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Central United Church, 30 Delhi St., Port Colborne, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11a.m. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery to follow service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Parkinson’s Canada or to Central United Church. Online guest register and condolences are available at www.davisonfuneralhome.com.
