Obituary of Rosina Moretti
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Rosina Moretti (nee Cece) on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the age of 96. She passed away peacefully in her sleep alongside her dear husband Paolo of 76 years. Rosina is now reunited with her parents Enrico and Maria, brothers Attilio, Luigi, and Orlando and sisters Iolanda and Gentelina.
Rosina was born on January 13, 1928 in Rocca San Giovanni, Chieti, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1956. She leaves behind her loving husband Paolo, treasured children Alessandro (Mary) and Gino (late Dianne). Cherished Nonna to James (Wendie), David (Giulia), Christina (Ryan) Dingman, Paolo (Laura), Nicole, Danielle and Rosemarie. She was especially proud to be a Great-Nonna to Austin, Marco, Luca, Lauren, Katelyn and Marino.
Rosina was known for her exceptional culinary and baking skills. Nothing made her happier than having her family gathered around her kitchen table and treating them to a wonderful homecooked meal accompanied by her delicious cookies for dessert.
In honouring Rosina’s wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted to GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 2:00 pm-4:00 pm and 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Vigil prayers will be held at 3:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday January 8, 2025 at St. Alfred’s Church, 272 Vine Street. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In memory of Rosina, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
