The death occurred at Palliative Care Unit at Western
Hospital, Alberton, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, with her loving
family by her side, of Rosetta Mary Doucette, age 92 years. Born in
Palmer Road on October 11, 1932, she was the daughter of late Sylvain
J. and Elizabeth (Arsenault) Peters. Rosetta married the love
of her life, Melvin Doucette. They were married for 70 years and they
had seven kids.
Survived by children: JoAnne (Roy), Darlene (Albon), Ritchie,
Norman (Michele), Lee (Kathy) and Cory (Nicole). Also survived by
sisters, Dolores, Esther, and Ada. Also survived by
son-in-law, Roy (Mona) Perry, brother-in-law, Francis Doucette,
brother-in-law, Harold Flemming, Judy (Roy) LeClair, Sophie Peters,
and many nieces, nephews, and loving family members, near and
far.
Forever to be remembered as ‘Meme’ to:
Derrick, Chad, Lynn (Tony), Sara (Greg), Tanya (Anton), Tina (Adam),
Travis (Jenny), Logan (Abby), Amber (Taylor), Kyle, Amanda (Billy),
Brett (Amy), and Brittany (Logan). Great-grandchildren are:
Tristan (Shana) Taylor (Anthony), Aiden (Jamielee), Harlee, Parker,
Brayden, Everlee, Beau, Tate, and Phillip.
Predeceased by siblings Delia, Josephine, Mary, Arthur,
Alphonse, Joe, Winnifred, Loretta, Guilluame, Eva, Willie, Henry,
Johnny, Irene, Ella, Ivan and Helen. Also predeceased by daughter Mona
(Roy) Perry, and by great-granddaughter, Sophia Mona
Rose.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton.
Visiting hours Friday, February 28, 2025, from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral
Saturday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for
funeral at 10:30am. Interment later in the church cemetery.
