Rosemary Cecile Vail, age 74, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Born in London, daughter of the late Cecil Fox and the former Mary Fraser. Beloved wife of the late Norman Vail (2022). Loved mother of Danielle Vail-Carere (Joe), Christopher Vail, and Cynthia Brubacher (Alex). Predeceased by her son Kevin (2015). Beloved grandmother of Kayla, Shaun, Spencer, David, Kennedy, Alexis, Emersyns, Kelsey, and Aubrey. Being a grandma was one of Rosemary’s biggest joys and cherished being able to share in their achievements.
The City of Stratford has lost one of its relentless angels. Rosemary dedicated 34 years to the practice of real estate, selling not just homes but lasting relationships through her warmth, integrity, and unwavering dedication. Beyond her professional achievements, she was a vibrant and “over the top” Girl Guide leader for 30 years, shaping the lives of countless young women with her enthusiasm, creativity, and tireless commitment.
Rosemary’s deep sense of service extended into her faith and community. She was a treasured part of many charity organizations in Stratford, where her kindness and generosity touched everyone she met. Her involvement in numerous local charities reflected her deep compassion and unwavering desire to make life better for others.
Stratford is richer for having had Rosemary among its citizens and superior now in her absence. Her legacy of love, leadership, and laughter will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A drop-in celebration of life will be held in the banquet hall at Knox Presbyterian Church,142 Ontario Street, Stratford on Friday April 11, 2025 between 3-7 pm.
