Rohrer, Marie “Rose” Lausa (Legacy) (May 2, 1941 – December 26, 2024)
It is with sadness that we, the family of Marie “Rose” Lausa (Legacy) Rohrer, wish to announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, at her late Tillsonburg residence on December 26th, 2024, at the age of 83. Rose was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick. Rose was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch 119), Ingersoll, where she enjoyed playing cards and attending social gatherings. She was also a lover of animals and plants. She enjoyed making her homemade wines, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Rose is predeceased by her first husband Ivan G. Rohrer and by her second common law spouse Jim Neave. Always a loving mother and mother-in-law to: Jean Claude (Diane) Legacy, of New Brunswick; Jacklin (Patrick) Hickey, of Chapleau, Ivan Rohrer Jr., of Tillsonburg; Elizabeth Rohrer (Jason), of Tillsonburg; and Mike (Lesley) Neave-Rohrer, of Tillsonburg. Rose is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Robyn Rohrer, Kristine Hickey, Mathew Hickey, Nicole Hickey, Steven Rohrer, Alicia Brown, Venessa Brown, Mya Rohrer, James Rohrer, Olivia Rohrer. Also by her great-grandchildren: Miley Rohrer, Alexandria Rohrer, Adalynn, Grant, Klyde, Skylar. Also survived by her siblings: Lena Cunningham, Oswald (“Junior”) Henry, Linda Ann Gauthier, and Paul Henry. Predeceased by her much-loved daughter Janett Rohrer, sister Bridget Burke, sister Theresa Henry, brother Isadore Henry, mother Exilda (Legacy) Henry, and stepfather Oswald Henry.
In keeping with Rose’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes Chapel, 262 Broadway St., Tillsonburg, on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 12 noon, led by Rev. Tom Brown. All are invited stay and attend a memorial gathering between 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Later inurnment will take place in Harris Street Cemetery.
