Rose Ann Ostopowich
March 23, 1941 – January 5, 2025
On Sunday, January 5, 2025 Mrs. Rose Ann Ostopowich of Kelowna, B.C., formerly of Edmonton, AB, Legal, AB, Carvel, AB, beloved wife of the late Martin Ostopowich, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 years with family holding her hands.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her children, The Right Reverend Father Joseph Ostopowich of Vancouver, B.C., David Ostopowich and his wife Valerie of Calgary, AB, Michael Ostopowich of Kelowna, B.C.; her grandchildren, Lisa Ostopowich of Calgary, AB, Adam Ostopowich and his wife Leah of Calgary, AB, Christopher Ostopowich of Calgary, AB, Jasmine Ostopowich and her husband Brian Oliveira of West Kelowna, B.C.; her special great-grandchildren Chase Ostopowich of Calgary, AB, James Ostopowich of Calgary, AB, Leonardo Oliveira of West Kelowna, B.C.; her siblings Irene Hohnstein of Duffield, AB, Andrew Pawlyk and his wife Debbie of Lacombe, AB, Patsy and her husband George Stark of Spruce Grove, AB; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Pawlyk of Bayside, California.
Besides her loving husband Martin, Rose is predeceased by her parents Josephine (nee Borynec) and Theodore (Fred) Pawlyk, and her brother Martin Pawlyk.
Prayers and visitation will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1910 Windsor Road, Kelowna, B.C. Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 from Dormition of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1091 Coronation Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. with The Right Reverend Father Joseph Ostopowich officiating. After a short reception, interment will follow at Saint Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Coldstream, B.C.
If relatives and friends so desire, memorials in Rose’s memory may be made directly to The Hospice House, 2035 Ethel Street, Kelowna, B.C., or to Dormition of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1091 Coronation Avenue, Kelowna, B.C.
