Obituary for
Rosa Ricca (née Garcea)
With great sadness in all of our hearts, we announce the passing of Rosa Ricca (née Garcea) on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the age of 90 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and nonna.
Rosa will be missed by her devoted daughters, Gaetana (James) Ryan and Concetta (Robert) Chevalier; precious grandchildren, Cathryn-Rose (Brad) Guenette and Matthew (Axandra), Eric and Kyle Chevalier; and brother, Giuseppe Garcea of Milano; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended relatives in Italy. Predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Antonio; parents, Pietro Garcea and Concetta Parrotta; and sister, Antonia Garcea.
Rosa will be forever remembered for her strong faith, hard work, and fierce love for her family and friends.
The light in her eyes will shine forever in our hearts.
The Ricca family would like to thank all the staff at Shasta Care Community, especially the staff on the 3rd floor, as well as Dr. Vicaruddin for her care and kindness.
A Prayer Service will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Reception Centre, 11015 – 101 Street NW, Edmonton. The Prayer Service will be followed by refreshments and dessert. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Ave NW, Edmonton, with entombment to follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosa’s memory to your preferred charity.
