Rosanna Maric Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosanna Zdravka Maric on April 24, 2025, in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 55.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Rosanna was the beloved daughter of the late Jerry Maric, and is survived by her devoted mother Caroline, as well as her siblings Lidia, Robert, Peter (Trinni), Edward, and Christopher (Lynn). Rosanna was also a doting aunt, always generous with her love for her nieces and nephews; Elizabeth, Elijah, Luka, Ava, and Adrijana.
Rosanna was full of wit and determination, qualities that served her well in life. Her intellectual curiosity led her to the University of Calgary, where she earned degrees in both Geology and Anthropology, before she embarked on a career working with children, dedicating many joyful and fulfilling years at Clear Water Academy.
Rosanna was called to complete post graduate studies with a focus on the Shroud of Turin at the Science and Faith Institute of the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, a subject that reflected her enduring devotion to her Catholic faith, where she graduated Magnum cum Laude.
Her steadfast faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted member of the Latin Mass Community at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish, where her presence and spirit will be deeply missed. She was also immensely proud of her Croatian heritage and was always eager to share her culture with others around the world, whether on mission with Regnum Christi in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, or on pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
A Visitation and Rosary Prayers will take place at Evan J Strong Funeral Services South (5502 2 Street SW) on Wednesday April 30, 2025 at 7:00 pm.
A Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of the soul of Rosanna at St. Anthony’s Catholic Parish (5340 4 St SW) in Calgary on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 11:00 am. A Reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
Interment will take place at Eden Brook Cemetery at 2:00 pm following the reception.
Rosanna has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations instead be made to Chalice.
Rosanna’s light, laughter, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed.
