Obituary of Ronald Paul Klein
The family of Ronald “Ron” Paul Klein sadly announces he passed away at the age of 65 on January 20, 2025, at Dr. Everett Chambers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. He was born on May 17, 1959, to the late Harold and Mildred (Steeves) Klein in Gimli, Manitoba.
Ron attended UNB and Saint Thomas University in Fredericton and followed up his degree from STU with a degree in Public Relations from Quebec. He spent more than 20 years teaching English in Japan, Vietnam, and Cambodia before returning home to New Brunswick.
Ron had a passion for hockey, reading, researching, and writing. He had a deep and abiding love for the country of Cambodia which was his home for many years.
Ron will be sadly missed by his son Ron Jr. of Fredericton; sisters, Marg Bowie of Moncton, NB, Kathy (Rick) Morningstar of Riverview, NB, Brenda Steen of Riverview, NB, Sue (Geordie) Harrison of Campbell River, BC; brothers, Jayme (Marion) Klein of Dartmouth, NS, Douglas Klein of Edmonton, AB; uncle, Lawrence Steeves of Fredericton, NB and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his wife Mia, brother-in-law Joseph Bowie and twin brother, Donald Peter Klein.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses from Dr. Everett Chambers Regional Hospital for the care they gave to Ron.
In keeping with Ron’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada (www.diabetes.ca), or a charity of the donor’s choice.
