It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald James Harvey on March 16, 2025. A devoted husband, loyal friend, and passionate outdoorsman, Ron lived life to the fullest and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Born and raised in Picton, Ron dedicated his career to protecting Ontario’s natural beauty as a conservation officer. His work took him across the province, where he made countless friends and shared his love for the great outdoors. Whether he was hunting, fishing, driving his classic cars, or out on the golf course, Ron found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a sharp sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could brighten any room.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Shirley Harvey, and their faithful companion, Lacey, his in-laws Dora Day (Michael), Rick Day (Jill), his nephews Shane Mooney (Julie), Darcy Day, Tim Day (Carlissa), his niece Katie Day (Zach), his second mom Aunt Marie and several cousins. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Ron’s life at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 463 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00pm.
Donations made in memory of Ronald to the MS Society would be appreciated by the family.
