Obituary of Ronald Glenn Joseph Freeman
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ronald Glenn Joseph (Ron) Freeman on March 16, 2025 at home.
Born in Alliston, Ontario on December 19, 1950 to the late Master Warrant Officer Austin and Helen Freeman, Ron was a natural athlete who loved all sports. In school days he played basketball, football, and his favorite, hockey. He played gentlemens hockey for many years in Ontario where he made many lifelong friends. Ron worked in Toronto for Detroit Diesel for 30 years before moving to Pictou County to retire. To keep busy after retirement, he took on a job at Heather Bowling Lanes, where he met MBG (my beautiful girl), the love of his life, his wife, Stephanie. Ron and Stephanie shared a deep love for each other that couldn’t be surpassed. The only thing that could have made their marriage better, was more time together. Ron was a carpenter who was always willing to help out when needed, a great storyteller, a fan of travelling (especially Mexico), rider of Harley motorcycles, a dog lover, and a true friend.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie (nee McPhee) and their children Justin Henderson, Stellarton, Sara McPhee Anderson (Karlo DelaCruz) Niagara Falls, and Eric Freeman, at home. Mother and father in law Jim and Fiona McPhee (Stellarton), sisters in law Kimberly Brown (Robbie), Karin Schlegel (Rick), and Melanie Larkham (Stephen). Long time friends Paul Frenette and Mike and Barb Little, Ontario. Brother Clyde and niece Stephanie Mascia (Ontario). He was predeced by his parents and his very special four legged friend, Bailey. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm, from Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at 2:00 pm from Eagles Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Mary Taylor officiating.
