Ronald George Huffman, of Orillia, passed away at home in Kitchener on Monday, April 14, 2025 at the age of 96.
Predeceased by his parents Albert and Sarah, his devoted wife Katherine, and his nine siblings Howard, Margaret, Shirley, Jean, Robert, Helen, Marwood, Kathleen, and Ann.
Ron is survived by his children Ronalee and John Clark, Nancy and John Evans, and Sarah and Sandy Fryfogel, his grandchildren Adam, Brett, James, Sheila, Brandon, Helen, and Sebastian, and his great-grandchildren Riley, Amelia, Avery, Lincoln, Alexandra, and Rowan. Ron will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ronald was a long-time member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. This organization aims to improve the character of mankind and make the world a better place through acts of kindness and service. This was how our father lived.
Ronald finished his working years as the superintendent of St. Andrews St. James Cemetery in Orillia. During this time, he held the position of President for the Ontario Association of Cemeteries. Dad was still receiving invitations to the past president’s dinner held at the annual convention.
Ronald’s family would like to thank the nurses and PSW’s from Care Partners for their kindness and support over the past few weeks. Also to the friends at Fallowfield apartments for your friendship and care over the past eight years.
Dad, your journey has come to an end.
We know you are at peace.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. The funeral service will begin in the funeral home’s chapel at 11:00 a.m. A livestream and recording of the service will be available on the funeral home’s website. Reception will follow in the funeral home’s Fireside Reception Room. Interment at St. Andrew’s – St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia will be held at a later date.
Condolences for the family and donations to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society may be arranged at www.erbgood.com.
