Ronald “Bunker” Hodgson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald “Bunker” Hodgson, beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, who left us peacefully at the age of 80.
Born in Toronto, Ron moved to Wasaga Beach in 1975, where he began a new chapter in his life. In 1977, he married the love of his life, Beverley, and together they shared many wonderful years. Ron was a devoted husband, brother, father, and grandfather, whose family meant everything to him.
Ron had a deep love for the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing, activities he truly cherished. He was also an avid golfer, enjoying many rounds with family and friends. Hockey was another passion of his—whether watching the game, taking his grandkids to countless tournaments, or playing himself, it brought him great joy. These hobbies, along with his loving nature, made him a truly special person.
Ron had a strong work ethic, having worked at McGuinness Distillery and Wasaga Stars Arena over the years. His contributions to both places were invaluable, and he forged lasting relationships within the community through his work.
He is survived by his cherished wife Beverley, his daughter Michelle (Bryan), his son Don (Karen), and his son Chris (Paula). Ron also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Shelby, Quaid, Jason, Ashley, Molly, and Ellis, who brought him immense joy throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his late twin brother, Edward, and is survived by his loving sister, Georgeann.
Ron’s kindness, humour, and unwavering love for his family and friends will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be planned for later in the summer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters or RVH Foundation.
