It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Boomer, a beloved father, grandfather, and cherished member of our community. Ron, aged 88, departed this life on January 9, 2025. Born on April 15, 1936, in Cambridge, Ron was the son of John and Ivy Boomer.
Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine Boomer (Armstrong), whose love and companionship filled his life with joy, and by his cherished daughter, Colleen Boomer, and granddaughter Melissa Newman.
Ron’s love for family was a guiding force in his life, and he is survived by his children Theresa and Tory (Terri), As a devoted father he instilled the importance of compassion and perseverance.
“Papa’s” legacy lives on in his grandchildren: Samantha (Joe), Christine, Zane, and Sarah, who brought immense joy to his life.
He held a special place in his heart for sports, proudly celebrating his achievements as an Allen Cup winner with the Galt Hornets during the 1968-69 and 1970-71 seasons. His love for the game was matched only by his love for sitting on the porch with good company and a pipe full of cherry tobacco.
