On January 6, 2025 Mr. Romeo Gascon of St. Paul, Alberta, formerly of Mallaig, passed away at the age of 97 years. He is survived by his children, Corrine Kostrub (Marcel), Yves (Sharon) & Luc (Debie); 13 grandchildren, Sheldon, Michelle (Shawn), Tyler, Ashley (Chad), Samantha (Russell), Adelle (Andrew), Megan (Sasha), Mark, Tina (Jason), Tanya (Brock), Trisha (Terry), Amy (Adam) & Shane; 27 great-grandchildren, Ariana, Savana, Reese, Talia, Jayden, Paige, Brayden, Britney, Lily-Rose, Jackson, Atlas, Jordan (Janell), Dakota (Aedan), Jaycee, Gaige, Jax, Cruz, Brandon, Chase, Carson (Kahlen), Annika, Aiden, Brielle, Dayten, Saylah, Roman & Atlas; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Everley, Rowan, Baker, June & Waylon; numerous nieces, nephews & in-laws. Mr. Gascon was predeceased by his wife, Lucille; son, Harvey; son-in-law, Larry Kostrub; grandson, Shaun Gascon; parents, Donat & Carmel; siblings, Irene Chartrand, Juliette Amyotte, Rollande Lamoureux & Albert Gascon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 14 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Cathedral, St. Paul. Reverend Father Andrew Schoenberger will be the celebrant with interment in St. Jean de Brebeuf Roman Catholic Cemetery, Mallaig.
